Therapy shaped around the person in front of me
There is no single way therapy needs to look. The way we work together will depend on your needs, experience, developmental stage, and what brings you to therapy.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy offers space to slow things down, understand what may be happening, and explore patterns that may no longer be working for you.
I am trained in a range of therapeutic approaches for working with adolescents and adults. Rather than expecting everyone to fit within one particular model of therapy, I draw from different approaches depending on the person, their experiences, needs, and what we are working to understand together.
This means therapy may look somewhat different from one person to another. The approach is shaped around you, rather than asking you to fit the approach.
Play Therapy
Play Therapy is not a single approach to therapy. It is a broad field that includes a number of therapeutic models and approaches, each offering different ways of understanding and working with children through play.
I am trained in multiple Play Therapy approaches, which allows me to consider the child, their developmental capacities, relationships, experiences, and needs when determining how I work. Rather than expecting a child to adapt to one particular model, I draw from my training to respond to the child in front of me.
For children, play can provide a developmentally appropriate way to communicate, explore experiences, build capacities, and work through difficulties when words alone may not be enough.
Parent & Family Support
Supporting a child often includes supporting the relationships and people around them. Parents and caregivers hold important knowledge about their child, and I see our work as collaborative rather than positioning the therapist as the person with all the answers.
Together, we can become curious about what a child may be communicating, consider development and the context around what is happening, and explore ways of supporting regulation, connection, and change within everyday life.
Not sure where to begin?
You do not need to know what type of therapy you need before reaching out. We can begin with a conversation about what is bringing you to therapy and consider together what approach may be most helpful.
